Chelsea had another shambolic 45 minutes of football in the first half against Zenit last night, and whilst things did improve in the second half, it really wasn’t by much.
The Blues can count themselves lucky to come away without losing the match last night, with Zenit the better side and deserved to win.

Chelsea were poor again, which marks the fourth game in a row where they have been lacklustre and not at it.
One positive though was the performance of Timo Werner, who scored two goals and assisted another. You felt he needed that game last night to try and turn his inconsistent fortunes so far in his Chelsea career.
His second goal should have absolutely been Chelsea’s winning goal, but once again the team folded, got rolled over, and gifted Zenit another equaliser.
Werner was both happy and disappointed after the game, naturally, as reported her below by Chelsea news account Absolute Chelsea:
Timo Werner:
"I think when you lead two minutes before finishing the game you have to win it so on one side I'm happy with my performance and about the performance of our team, but on the other side a bit disappointed that we don't win."
