Malang Sarr came to Chelsea on a free transfer last summer, and it looked like he was just going to be farmed out on loan and then sold.
After a bad season at Porto last time out where he barely played, we couldn’t even find a time for him this season, so he ended up sticking around with Thomas Tuchel’s first team.
Injuries gave him a chance, and he’s actually looked very impressive in the games he’s played.
SportWitness have today linked him with a move to Newcastle, who are desperately looking for players to try and help them stay up.
It’s a nice move for him, and potentially for Chelsea, whether it’s a loan or a permanent deal. The issue is that he’s actually quite an important squad member now, and until Reece James is back from injury, Sarr is second backup to the back 3 after Trevoh Chalobah.
There’s always a chance they make us an offer we can’t refuse, however.
