Sometimes you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone, but sometimes you don’t realise what you missed until it’s back.
We all knew Reece James’ absence was hurting Chelsea’s chances of winning major trophies this season, but it’s only having him back today that’s really made us feel the pain of what could have been.
He got a goal and an assist to basically single-handedly crack open a tough Burnley side who had dug in deep.
That puts him clear among all defenders in Europe as the most productive in terms of goal contributions, as you can see in the stat embedded above.
We can only imagine what kind of figures he would have had he been fit all season.
Hopefully his return will provide a major boost to our form across the board, and bring us back to the levels where we were at before he and Ben Chilwell were injured.
