We’ve heard few big goals celebrated at Stamford Bridge, in a variety of different contexts, but very few were as big or as unique as Kai Havertz’ effort on Sunday.
It was a beautiful goal in its own right, but more importantly it represented a lot for the crowd after a long week – and after a whole afternoon of taunts from Newcastle fans.
Afterwards, Kai Havertz responded to a question about the noise by saying it was moments like those that he’d dreamed of as a kid. Let’s hope his next goal is in a more comfortable context.
