Thomas Tuchel was asked in his press conference a few weeks ago if he had any hesitation in picking Andreas Christensen.
The defender has all but admitted that he’s heading to Barcelona on a free transfer this summer, and the questioner wondered if his coach was concerned about his commitment.
Tuchel didn’t laugh off the idea, but he insisted that he would have no hesitation, and that Christensen’s head was very much still in the game.
The evidence from tonight is that it’s not. The normally ice cold defender messed up to allow Arsenal to score their first goal, and at half time he has just been replaced by Thiago Silva.
We may not see much more of AC in a Chelsea shirt, which is a shame. He’s been brilliant in the last 12 months, and we all know about the ridiculous quality he has. But this was for the best.
IT’S CLEAR FROM THE 1ST LEG OF OUR CHAMPION LEAGUE MATCH AGAINST REAL MADRID THAT HIS MIND IS NO MORE WITH US. WE HAVE A CHALOBA ON THE BENCH WHO IS ONE OF US. THE MANAGER SHOULD NOT TOY WITH OUR CHANCE OF US FINISHING THIRD IN THE LEAGUE. THE SELECTION TODAY IS NOT THE BEST CONSIDERING WE ARE PLAYING AGAINST A FELLOW CONTENDER. HE OFFER TO ALWAYS SELECT THE BEST AT ALL TIME NOW GOING FORWARD.
