Chelsea join chase for goal machine Arsenal youngster

The Daily Star are reporting that Chelsea are among the large group of European teams keen on signing Arsenal youngster Khayon Edwards.

The 18 year old has been tearing it up at every youth level for the Gunners, with 16 goals and 5 assists in 16 games for their U18s this season. Clearly those are ridiculous numbers.

But Mikel Arteta’s team are increasingly doubtful he will extend his contract, which expires at the end of this season.

The striker has been closely linked with Brighton, who signed Tariq Lamptey from Chelsea in similar circumstances a couple of years ago.

Chelsea are on the list – but if they kid is leaving Arsenal because he wants first team football, it may be difficult to convince him coming to Stamford Bridge is the right move.

As always though, the Blues’ scouts have their eyes trained on every last young English talent, ready to swoop when the time is right.
