Conor Gallagher opens up on missing FA Cup semi-final and his Chelsea future

Chelsea and Crystal Palace battled it out for a place in the FA Cup final on Sunday evening and it was The Blues that came out on top.

I do wonder if Conor Gallagher may have effected things if he was able to play in the game. But unfortunately for him and his team, due to the fact that he is on loan from Chelsea to Palace, it meant he wasn’t able to play after a wise decision from Chelsea.

It was a tough game for The Blues but they eventually came out 2-0 winners and Gallagher had to make do with watching from the sidelines.

Of course players just want to play the game, especially ones of Gallagher’s age and enthusiasm, and he was a little disappointed that he wasn’t able to play, as reported by Goal.

“Obviously I wanted to be part of it,” Gallagher said. “It is an amazing occasion for the club to be at Wembley in the semi-final.

“I was happy to be here and support the lads. Playing in games like this is what everyone wants to do, a semi-final of the FA Cup at Wembley is one of those games. Unfortunately I couldn’t do it today, but hopefully it comes [around] again.

“I just want to play games, especially a game like this, but it is what it is. The boys did well today but it just wasn’t made to be.”

So what about his Chelsea future? There has been a lot said about that and how Thomas Tuchel wants him back in the squad for pre-season.

“There’s a few games left and that’s the most important thing right now,” he added.

“I am not thinking about Chelsea yet, I am just thinking about Palace and the end of the season.”
