Antonio Rudiger didn’t play in Chelsea’s last two games due to injury, we had assumed for legitimate reasons.
It has unfortunately coincided with the news breaking that he’s definitely going to leave Chelsea this summer, but we hadn’t heard any hints that the injury problems were being faked or exaggerated until now.
Former African Footballer of the Year Victor Ikpeba seemed to think he had skipped out on the games deliberately, as he said in quotes picked up by AllNigeriaSoccer:
“[Missing games] was unprofessional, I think he’s done with Chelsea. If I am the manager I won’t play him anymore.
“His allegiance is now with Real Madrid, he is not focused for Chelsea, he should just move on.
“He shouldn’t do that, it’s unprofessional from him.”
To be honest, we’re not really sure what to make of it all. We didn’t hear any real indications from Thomas Tuchel that Rudiger was a marginal call, nor have we heard from any serious sources that he was anything less than capable of playing.
The coach has said that he will count on Rudiger for the rest of the season, and we won’t question that unless we have good reason. Let’s just hope Ikpeba has got the wrong end of the stick.
Sparking unnecessary controversy is not called for this time. Rudiger is a very professional player. He has no interest to bring Chelsea down at the end of the season. He has an injury that’s it.
How do you make up to that conclusion???
I think Rudiger missed it here. Even if he is truly injured, it is very inappropriate going public with his decision to leave Chelsea at this time Chelsea needs every hands to make sure she makes too 4. If I was to be Rudiger, I wouldn’t leave Chelsea knowing the challanges currently faced by the club occasioned by Abromovic sanctions. Everything is not money. He would’ve made himself a legend of the Club had he stayed. The future I can bet you would’ve been brighter for him as history will eternally remember him.
i think if Rudiger missed games deliberately, then he is much better than the likes of Silva, who can play beautiful football against big name teams but gives away critical games like champions league..kante & mendy can also decide to relax n put no efforts to important games..intact to stay away from games is much better than go into a game with negative mindsets..Silva is a high profile player but has done the worst before, Germany vs Brazil 7-1 @ world cup..kepa has broken lots of hearts before mendy arrival..this is not cool but Rudiger ,i salute him..somebody else had taken his place..its not sabotage, no
Hmmm, those who are unprofessional are those in the board who refuses to meet his wages demand in time before all this saga.
And Rudiger has played almost every single game this season,he’s not a robot or machine, his body need rest.
People can say anything against him but the real problem is Tuchel ,lacking the tactics to kill a game even when he’s up 3-0,this lost has a toll effect on Rudiger as everyone can see from his body language at Madrid and subsequent avoidable loses due tobTuchel stupid line ups by underrating his opponents.
Move on Rudi, leave this Crises ridden Chelsea in peace.
If he want to leave Chelsea let him go he is not more than the club because I can see that he is not devoted to the team anymore, he has already have the ambition to leave. Remember the way Eden hard and contua formal Chelsea goalkeeper left for real Madrid so if he want to go he can go ahead. Just take a look the way he fell to bensema to score that goal in the champions league is no annoying
