Conor Gallagher has had a brilliant season on loan at Crystal Palace, really building on a great year in the Championship and looking ready for a top team in the top flight.
On TalkSport, Charlie Austin suggested that he would be a perfect fit at Liverpool, where his dedication and energy would be ideal for Jurgen Klopp’s philosophy.
But he’s a Chelsea player, and Football.London quote Austin in saying how excited he is to see the 22 year old in action:
“Him coming to Chelsea, I think it’s a perfect opportunity for him. As players, when an opportunity comes, you’ve got to take them and this one, I think Conor Gallagher will be looking at, as well as his representatives,” the former QPR striker said.
“Whether they are thinking what we can do next year. I think he will be looking at it and thinking: ‘I’m going to try my best and give everything at Chelsea.'”
We’re sure Liverpool would love to have him, but he’s a Chelsea boy and will almost certainly be playing in our first team squad next season – hopefully taking points off the Reds themselves as we go for our first title in years.
It’s time for a changing of the guard in midfield, and Gallagher can lead the charge.
As for Chelsea, Conor is a “sheep to be shorn”. He is the “Irish Energizer Bunny” and would fit in with the Emerald environment in Liverpool. He is doomed to failure at Chelsea. To say it bluntly, Tuchel is “harsh” and unfeeling. Sadly as a CP fan in the US Midwest, he is just too talented for Palace.
