Things have really been going from bad to worse for both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner at Chelsea this season, two players who are supposed to be our main strikers bought for almost £150m combined.
Neither are doing what we need them to be doing right now and both of them are in poor form. We have heard them both in recent times mention that the system might be a problem for them, with fingers being pointed towards Thomas Tuchel’s tactics.

Of course this is a claim that was soon shut down by Tuchel, who has always maintained that it’s nothing to do with his tactics.
Former Chelsea player and manager Glenn Hoddle believes that for Lukaku at least, it is nothing to do with how Chelsea play and it is up to the player to sort it out and start playing well again, as reported by The Daily Mail today.
“The missing piece is nothing to do with Tuchel, it’s nothing to do with how Chelsea play,” Hoddle said.
“Lukaku’s got to look himself in the mirror. He’s got to look himself in the mirror and say I’ve got to get the best out of myself.
“Lukaku is no way near the player he was since he had that interview. Since he had that injury. I don’t know if he is fit enough. He doesn’t look really lean and fit to me. Maybe he’s worked on the wrong things.”
He also doesn’t think Werner is anything more than just a decent sub:
“Werner is quite a decent substitute to have though. He can change the dynamic of the game from the bench.”
