Chelsea receive European clearance and final sale announcement is now being prepared

The final pieces of the jigsaw puzzle have fallen into place for the Chelsea sale to be officially signed off and officially announced by the club.

Earlier on this morning, the UK Government announced that they have passed Todd Boehly’s consortium and accepted them as the new Chelsea owners. All that was left then was to get clearance from the European Union due to Roman Abramovich’s Portuguese citizenship.

Jules Kounde is set to become the first Chelsea signing in the Boehly era.

Now, according to The Telegraph, that has been confirmed and accepted by Europe as well and not only that, Chelsea are preparing their official announcement, which might even be written by Boehly!

The report says that Boehly received confirmation on the final clearing of his takeover from Government, the Premier League and Europe, with Chelsea now preparing an announcement on the club’s change of ownership.

This is big news as this was the final thing we needed to get passed off before the final official deal can be announced.
