Ruben Loftus-Cheek has had a real renaissance in the last few weeks under Thomas Tuchel and has played an exceptional amount, but last night he was treated very oddly.
The midfielder was brought on and then taken off again soon after by Tuchel, who was asked to explain his thinking in the press conference after the game.
There was a suspicion that either Loftus-Cheek was injured, or Tuchel was angry at how he had played, but the coach assured the press it was purely in order to get penalty takers on the pitch.
In that case, the question was why he brought him on so soon before the shootout.
