We’ve all known for some time that Raheem Sterling is going to be a Chelsea player, it’s just been a question of when the club will announce it.
They’re continuing to leave us in suspense, but Sterling has rather popped their bubble by releasing a farewell statement to Manchester City, where he has spent 7 seasons.
On his Twitter and Instagram, the England winger posted a message thanking everyone there are announcing that he’s moving on – without mentioning Chelsea.
Raheem Sterling thanks Manchester City. Announcement today. Something big being cooked up. At Dodgers stadium? Who knows. Not ruling it out 😅 pic.twitter.com/iyFF5bPxy0

He concludes by saying that he arrived in Manchester as a boy and left as a man.
That means he arrives at Chelsea as a man – and hopefully as a senior player ready at his peak ready to take this team to the next level.
Now it’s just a question of when this long-awaited announcement will take place… It feels like the club must be cooking up something really special. Why else make us wait?
