Wilfried Zaha had face to face meetings with Chelsea as Aubameyang alternative crystallises

Chelsea are being strongly linked with Wilfried Zaha as the transfer window progresses.

There are reports from Simon Philips today that the club met with Zaha and his representative multiple times last week, with a “positive reaction” from the winger’s camp.

Palace will be reluctant to let their star player go, but they have cultivated a nice group of tricky wingers in the last couple of years, which could soften the blow a little.

Zaha has started this season very strongly, and seems like a major alternative to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

He missed yesterday’s game against Manchester City, but his team did just fine without him.

That absence was apparently down to injury – but we’re increasingly thinking there may have been other reasons behind it.

Zaha is a somewhat controversial figure among Premier League fans, but there’s no doubt he’s got a lot of quality and could add some real danger to our attack.
