Chelsea fear for season after Reece James loss

Chelsea were disappointing as an attacking force overall last night, and there’s a real feeling that this team are going to struggle severely without Reece James.

We’ve already had a couple of games without the right wing back out injured, and we’ve looked totally toothless without him.

We managed two goals against Aston Villa without him, but one was a defensive error and the other a set piece.

Then we failed to score or create much against Brentford in midweek. Yesterday we managed a penalty – our only shot on target of the match.

It’s not only just that James is so good, it’s that those behind him in the pecking order are so far off his level.

As it stands, it’s hard to see how Graham Potter gets us anywhere near the level we were at a couple of weeks ago without his star wing back. January can’t come soon enough.
