Chelsea are desperate to sign attacking talent, either in January or in the summer.
Plenty of the players they’re after will be playing at the World Cup, all hoping to show what they can do on the biggest stage.
One of the premier names on their list is Rafael Leao. With his rival for Chelsea’s attentions Christopher Nkunku out injured, the Portugal winger had a chance to shine tonight -and he took it.
Portugal had just been pegged back by Ghana in their group opener, but they then went ahead, before Leao raced up the other end and scored with a beautiful finish from a tight angle to finish the game.
Leao didn’t get a start today, but with Joao Felix disappointing other than his goal, we can imagine the AC Milan attacker coming in next game and impressing further.
He was anonymous in our two group games against him in the Champions League, so he has a lot of making up to do.
