Graham Potter admits Chelsea’s “structure” was poor as Blues well beaten

Graham Potter is taking his post match press conference after a defeat against Arsenal, and the Chelsea coach was pretty honest about a poor performance from his team.

The Gunners were a cut above, and the 1-0 scoreline really flattered his team, who barely had a touch in the opposition half, let alone threatened the Arsenal goal.

“We huffed and puffed but I think you could see the difference between the teams in confidence and structure. In the end, as much as it is not nice to say, Arsenal deserved to win the game overall. So we have to take that and use it as motivation to improve,” the coach said in quotes picked up by Football.London

Unfortunately for Potter, both the confidence and the structure are his responsibility. He’s been given a dreadful hand to play given the injuries, but even taking that into consideration, his team weren’t nearly good enough today.

We’ve now just got to take our medicine against Newcastle and Man City, who will thrash us on current form. Then we have the World Cup break, where our coach will have some time to get things right. As it stands, we have no chance of reaching the Champions League next season.
