“We will fight” – Chelsea winger warns his club teammates

Christian Pulisic has had a hard time at Chelsea, especially in the last year. Going on international dut, back to a team where he’s the star man and the key player, must be a relief for him.

This is his moment to shine – after missing out on the last World Cup, the USA are ready for this one and he will be captaining his country in Qatar.

To add to the spice, he will be playing against many of his Chelsea teammates when the US take on England in the group stage.

In quotes picked up by Football.London, he warned his colleagues not to expect an easy ride:

“We’re not at the World Cup just to make up the numbers. We go, we give it everything in every game we play, we make America proud. Wherever that takes us we have to wait and see.”

“I understand why there will be lots of talk and excitement around the England game,” he added.

“They have some of the best players in the world, players that I know well. There are three games in the group and one is no more important than the other two. In all three games, we will fight for the points.”

We’re already looking forward to the game on Monday – it’s the first spicy game of the group stage overall and it will really feel like the cup has begun when that’s on.

Perhaps Pulisic will end his year on a sweet note after all?
