The possible restrictions on how Chelsea will be able to use left winger Mudryk

Nizaar Kinsella has been all over the Mykhailo Mudryk deal from the start, and now it’s done he makes some interesting points about how the winger could fit in.

We’ve got so many players in attacking positions now that it’s hard to know where to start, but Kinsella makes some very salient points about the new arrival.

Firstly, almost every appearance of his short career so far has come on the left wing. The youngster will have enough on his plate already adapting to life in a new country and a new league, let alone a new position, so it feels very likely he will be slotted in there rather than wedged into a different spot.

That then means a huge number of players competing for the right wing. Raheem Sterling prefers the left but may be forced to the right, and Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech are just going to have to adapt to whatever they’re told to do.
