Chelsea slammed for lack of effort and lack of leadership

Tim Sherwood has joined other pundits in giving out the worst criticism of all to Chelsea’s players after Sunday’s defeat.

He accused the Blues team of lacking effort in the game, where they conceded shortly after half time and barely looked interested in getting back on level terms after that.

“As soon as they went behind in the second half, that’s when you need people to stand up and show that you’re performing for the shirt, but I never saw that. I thought they lacked effort, they lacked a plan, and were just hoping that one of their world-class players [could] turn it around,” the former Spurs boss said in quotes picked up by Football.London.

He added to criticisms made by former Chelsea defender Frank Lebouef, who noted a lack of leadership in the side.

“I don’t see any players with leadership. They’re all 20-21 years old, they have great futures. We saw that today with Jorginho and Arsenal. It’s crazy that I have to say that Jorginho was very useless for Chelsea but so useful for Arsenal.

“We have to find leaders in the middle of the park or in the spine, which we don’t have at Chelsea. Nobody is a leader.”

Lebouef’s accusation that the team lacks leaders is one we’ve heard before, and it’s especially true when Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva are both on the bench.

As well as buying some top players for big money, perhaps we should have bought some experienced winners to go with them.

  1. Chelsea har ikke en eneste angriber der kan lave mål.
Hvad med at betale hvad det koster at få ham der der måske kunne ændre Chelseas problemer nemlig Ivan Toney
