Andrey Santos has been awarded player of the tournament for the Sudamericana sub 20.
Santos, despite playing midfield, ended up as the joint top scorer of the tournament with 6 goals. He also scored a header in last night’s final against Uruguay in the 81st minute which put Brazil 1-0 up.
The game ended 2-0 to Brazil, Chelsea’s midfield gem captained the side throughout the tournament and played every single game.
The club are currently working on a work permit and despite being just 18 years of age, Potter has plans to have him in this season’s squad.
It is unclear how much he will play for Chelsea this season but he does add another option in midfield, comfortable defending deeper, Santos as seen by his goal record also loves to venture forward and effect play as a box to box midfielder.
Chelsea target Vitor roque also scored 6 goals and shares the golden boot award with Santos.
