Andrey Santos’s work permit application has been rejected

Andrey Santos has had his work permit rejected as he is not an indispensable player, reports Brazilian journalist Lucas Pedrosa.

Pedrosa reports that the Premier League have explained to Chelsea that they have already signed Enzo Fernandez and have Denis Zakaria on loan so, the Blues can essentially cope without Santos.

Andrey missed out on 1 point to enroll normally, for those confused, players must gain a certain number of points through different requirements in order to naturally gain a work visa.

If you don’t have enough points, you could be considered for the special talent medium, in which this case Andrey would be granted a work permit application for 15 out of 20 Premier League Clubs however Chelsea do not fall into this category for reasons mentioned above.

Chelsea will be disappointed and potentially even angry as they wanted to integrate Santos into the team this season, they will now have to make a decision whether or not to send him back out on loan to Brazil or to keep him training and adapting to the first team and of course Graham Potter until the summer.
