“Another to watch” – Moises Caicedo’s team mate linked with Chelsea move

Chelsea’s big spending has not finished yet, with the new owners expected to go again in the summer.

Although there is not expected to be another large amount of arrivals, such as we saw in January, the club are still searching for a few more key positions to buy in.

According to insider Ben Jacobs of Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, the club are looking at a new striker, a midfielder, and potentially a new goalkeeper in the summer.

Jacobs has penned his latest extensive and exclusive column on the website, and a chunk of the article is based around summer recruitment strategy and plans.

One of the focus areas is in midfield, and according to Jacobs, Chelsea could turn to Moises Caicedo’s Brighton team mate, Alexis Mac Allister, as they search for a potential new centre midfielder in the summer, alongside Declan Rice as another top priority option.

“Caicedo’s Brighton teammate Alexis Mac Allister is another to watch,” Jacobs said.

“No one moved for him in January because Mac Allister had only just signed a new deal before the World Cup until June 2025, and there’s an option to extend until 2026. That makes a summer sale still quite tricky. And Brighton clearly don’t want to lose Caicedo and Mac Allister in the same window. Although you’ll see Mac Allister, off the back of a phenomenal World Cup, priced quite handsomely in media reports (as high as £60m), Chelsea, like other suitors, view him as a £30-35m player.”
