Callum Hudson-Odoi’s loan to Bayer Leverkusen was supposed to be the making of him, but after a bright start things have started to fade.
He hasn’t been a consistent starter since the World Cup break, and ultimately the arrival of Xabi Alonso as his manager has hurt rather than helped the winger.
In a very similar fashion to what we’ve seen at Chelsea, it appears that CHO is fading into the background, unable to pick up the necessary consistency of performances to keep a starting spot.
Bild are now reporting that Leverkusen aren’t planning on trying to keep him beyond the end of this window.
Bayer Leverkusen will not be keeping Callum Hudson-Odoi beyond his loan spell, with the #Chelsea loanee currently out of favour and performances declining.

That’s a big problem for Callum, and a bit of a problem for Chelsea too. In his absence they’ve signed a slew of new attacking players, and if CHO was struggling for minutes last year, things will only have got worse since.
Let’s hope he can finish the season strongly.
