Chelsea have agreed a deal to send Andrey Santos to Palmeiras on loan until December, Fabrizio Romano is reporting.
The wonderkid midfielder has not been able to get a work permit to join up with Graham Potter’s squad in January, and so he will return to Brazil (where he was thriving with Vasco de Gama) and play in the Copa Libertadores, adding further points to ensure his next application is successful.
That will cover the full Brazilian season – although Chelsea have a recall clause which will allow them to bring back the midfielder in June, midway through the season in Brazil and in the European summer window.

It’s a pity, as he’s clearly good enough to play a role already. However, looking on the bright side, he will now be playing as an important player, week in week out, for a big team in his home country, hopefully learning from a good coach and developing further.
