Chelsea may be struggling on the field, but off the field things are still moving quickly and decisively.
The Blues have appointed several names to their recruitment team over the last few months, and that overhaul is continuing to the youth teams too.
Today they announced at Neil Bath, who has headed up our youth operations for some time, will be promoted to the new role of “director of football development and operations,” with his old role heading up the academy taken over by Jim Fraser and Jack Francis, his impressive understudies for many years.
You never quite know what these changes mean as an outsider, but what we can say is that any move which keeps the obviously brilliant Bath at the club – with as much responsibility as possible – is a good one.
