There has been a lot of articles and reports written about whether Chelsea will sack Graham Potter or not today, and the general feeling is that they won’t, at least not now.
Some reports are even suggesting that they have no plans at all to sack him even if things get worse over the next two or three games.
Although not every reporter is that confident.
Ben Jacobs of Si & Dan Talk Chelsea has penned his report on the situation today in his extensive and exclusive column on the site, and he is hearing mainly the same as most other reports.
Chelsea have clearly briefed the media that they are still backing Potter, but for how long? How safe is his job?

The club are not ready to give up on him just yet and there are many factors that are keeping them fully behind him.
Jacobs said: “Sources still indicate confidence in Potter remains for now and that he will be in charge for Spurs. As I have revealed before, the owners are somewhat using Arsenal as an example. Mikel Arteta has had spells of huge pressure, especially after Arsenal missed out on Champions League football last season. But Arsenal stuck with him and it’s clear now how exciting their progress and project is. Chelsea also look at Manchester City as another model. Let’s not forget Guardiola didn’t win a trophy in his first season. I also think the fact Potter has worked with co-sporting director Paul Winstanley before at Brighton helps.
“Chelsea’s disappointing 1-0 loss to bottom-side Southampton has certainly changed the mood, but that doesn’t mean Graham Potter will be sacked. This is a real test of the ownership’s position on him. They really don’t want to make a change. I expect Potter to be in charge for Spurs at the very least.
“Potter was hired because he is deemed to be the right football, strategic and personality fit. What has bought him time to date is the belief that once the injury crisis ends (including fit again players now finding sharpness), and new signings settle, Chelsea will improve. They just need to start scoring.
“The last thing the ownership wants is to make another change, but football is ultimately a results-driven business.”
