Chelsea fans need a boost and could get one soon after ‘positive’ contract update

There aren’t many things right now that would collectively unit the Chelsea fan base, with a real toxic feeling out there around the club right now.

Many are calling for yet another manager to be sacked in the shape of Graham Potter after some very poor form and results in the last 14 plus games.

But one thing that would get the whole fanbase celebrating, is a new contract for key midfielder N’Golo Kante, who will soon be returning from injury.

His current deal ends this summer and he will become a free agent as things stand. But Ben Jacobs has some positive news on that in his latest Si & Dan Talk Chelsea column today.

Jacobs covered loads of Chelsea related subjects today in his extensive and exclusive column, as seen here, with Kante being one of them.

Jacobs says that talks to extend Kante’s contract are ongoing and positive.

“N’Golo Kante’s contract talks remain ongoing and positive, especially compared to the early part of the season. Kante won’t be short of offers, though, but Chelsea are in the box seat. Kante loves Chelsea and London, which is what gives the club optimism a deal can be reached.

“Kante would love to stay at Chelsea, but due to his age it’s now a two-way process and terms of any extension have to be right for both parties.”

  1. What’s so exciting about giving a new contract to a player who plays half dozen games every 2 seasons let him move on more than enough midfielders at club should not entertain contract talks Kante owes Chelsea money for lack of playing time
