Chelsea must be looking enviously at a Brighton manager once again

Roberto De Zerbi cracking a smile

The Telegraph’s Chelsea correspondent Matt Law has today written a piece where he talks about Roberto De Zerbi and how all of Italy’s top teams are keen to appoint him as their coach this summer.

De Zerbi went to the South Coast to replace Graham Potter when he moved to Chelsea back in September, and the Italian coach has done incredibly well picking up where Potter left off and even improving the team further.

He has them ahead of Chelsea in the table, and looking set for a strong finish too.

Chelsea must be feeling pangs of regret. It was their move that forced Brighton to find a new man, and in the end the Seagulls picked someone who most Blues fans would trade for Potter right now.

If he does indeed head back to Italy and start winning trophies with Inter or Juventus, the whole thing will become even more painful.
