Santi Aouna in France is reporting that N’Golo Kante is about to sign a new contract at Chelsea.
The midfielder’s current deal expires at the end of this season, and the new deal will keep him here until 2026, with an option on Chelsea’s end to extend that deal until 2027.
It’s an amazing show of confidence in a player who is already 31 and has missed more games through injury with each passing season. He’s been out since August this year, and giving him a 3 year deal seems an astonishing move, regardless of his amazing quality when he’s at his best.
🚨EXCL: N'Golo Kanté 🇫🇷💫.

Chelsea are desperate to shrink their bloated squad after a monster summer spend, but it doesn’t look like Kante will be one of those leaving.
Kante has always been clear that his priority is to stay at Chelsea, and it may well be that a low salary has been agreed in return for the security of such a long deal.
