Borussia Gladbach’s director has confirmed that Chelsea target Marcus Thuram will leave in the summer transfer window.
The director spoke to Sport1 in Germany and said: “We have to accept that there are bigger clubs where Marcus might go”.
Thuram will leave on a free in the summer but Chelsea had tried to strike a deal earlier just last month in the January window by offering Gladbach a transfer fee.
It is unclear why the deal never materialised and it went cold rather quickly, perhaps Marcus did not want to leave mid season as you would think Gladbach would have accepted a small fee rather than lose the player for nothing in the summer window, just like Chelsea did with Jorginho.
Fabrizio Romano reveals the player already has proposals from England, Italy and Spain. It remains to be seen whether or not Chelsea re-ignite their interest and compete for his signature.
