Chelsea set all kinds of records with their spending in January and last summer, but they’re not done yet.
Matt Law always knows what’s going on on the inside at Chelsea, and he says the club are still considering themselves very much in the race for this summer’s big prize – Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund.
According to his piece in the Telegraph tonight, Chelsea’s co-controlling owners Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly have made an effort to establish contacts and “lines of communication” with Bellingham’s camp, and will do “everything in their power” to make it happen.
They have understood they’re not favourites – with Liverpool, Man City and Real Madrid all seem to lead us in the race – but we’re making it clear to everyone who matters that we want to be involved.
19 year old Bellingham looks like he’s going to set some transfer records wherever he goes – the question is whether Chelsea still have anything left in their account.
