Chelsea have had issues throughout the team this year, there’s no denying that.
But if you were going to focus on one problem that’s hurt us more than others, it would be a lack of goals. A simple glance at the league’s stats by team tell you that.
Chelsea have managed 22 all season. That puts them in 13th place, below the likes of Fulham, Brentford, Aston Villa and so on.
It should not be a surprise we’re scoring so few, as we’re shooting only the 12th most in the league. Our 11.6 shots per game is far closer to Bournemouth in 20th place than to Liverpool in 1st place.
Buying two wingers, a striker, an attacking midfielder and a central midfielder in January should help. If it doesn’t, it’s hard to know where the club would turn next. A 0-0 draw against Fulham on Friday won’t have helped, and we need to see that net rippling – and soon.
