Chelsea’s Brazil plan for midfielder confirmed

Andrey Santos has been promised first team action by Chelsea – but for now, the club can’t offer it to him.

He missed out on his world permit application by a single point – although he and the club will be hoping that his recent spell with the Brazil youth team will help with that.

The Evening Standard have a report from Nizaar Kinsella which claims just that, and says that other solutions are being considered if the second effort is turned down.

This is effectively just a confirmation of what we heard yesterday from Brazilian sources. If he can’t come to us, he will join a Brazilian team on loan – specifically one of the teams playing in the Copa Libertadores, South America’s Champions League.

We’d all rather see him at Chelsea however, and just like Andrey, we’re all waiting to see whether he can get that one point and come play for us ASAP.
