Everything is so negative around Chelsea at the moment, we thought we had better find something positive.
So… how about our defensive record?
Despite being in the middle of one of the worst seasons in memory, we’ve conceded 23 goals in our 23 games. No wonder Thiago Silva is favourite for our player of the year. Benoit Badiashile has also come in and done well, and Kepa is having a decent season.
That’s good going, and it puts us joint second for the best record in the league – although nobody is coming close to Newcastle’s amazing 15 from 23.
In fact, the teams around us in goals conceded are 5th, 1st, 2nd, 8th and 3rd. It’s pretty clear that if we can put a few in at the other end we can rise rapidly.
We’ve even created good chances in recent weeks, it’s just getting the ball over the line that’s a problem it seems.
