Top of their rankings are two players who arrived in January – Enzo Fernandez has two starts with an average rating of 7.49, followed by Benoit Badiashile who has 4 starts and a rating of 7.22. It’s great work from two players who have arrived in England and been thrown in to a struggling team at the deep end – and managed to find their feet right away.
For all of this talk of “settling in” we hear used to excuse the bad results, it’s pretty clear that a good player can step right into the team and play well from the off.
Adaptation to a new team and a new league is a thing, that’s without doubt, but a good player can shine right away, regardless of circumstances. Let’s hope the rets of the new boys get up to speed soon.
