Claims that Chelsea could soon find out the club will lose “its soul”

So much has been happening at Chelsea Football Club over the last months since the sanctions hit and Roman Abramovich was forced to sell his beloved club.

The new owners came in and began making huge changes straight away, starting with a busy summer transfer window of signing new players.

Sources: The feel inside Cobham and whether Chelsea will sack Graham Potter!

Then they changed things further by replacing Thomas Tuchel with Graham Potter, and things have been very up and down since.

The January transfer window was fantastic and they spent a lot of money recruiting new top quality players then, but the performances and results on the pitch have been shocking.

Not everyone agrees that the new signings are a good thing though. Pundit Paul Merson is questioning all the new arrivals and is concerned about the futures of Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher, saying their departures will see Chelsea lose it’s soul.

In words picked up by The Daily Express, Merson said: “I want him [Potter] to stay. I’m not sure if he’s the one bringing these players in. I’m watching these players and I wonder whether these signings are better than the players they’ve got.

“They are absolutely not. So why are they buying these players? They might very well offload players like Mason Mount and Conor Gallager and profit off their sales because they are academy graduates. And then suddenly, they’ll figure out that the club has lost its soul.”

    1. I agree that you can’t be the “soul” and then not perform. John Terry always brought the performances, but also a steely, indomitable mentality that I just don’t see in these two.

Mount has certainly shown he’s worthy of wearing the blue when he’s in form, but he’s got to want it. And the fact that he’s apparently not willing to sign the long-term contract the club has proposed does not scream “soul of the club” to me, lol! Isn’t it the absolute height of irony for the so-called “soul of the club” to object to a contract because it’s TOO LONG? So much for Merson’s romanticized view of modern football, lmao!

  1. Never take away Thiago Silva is a very good defender and and good commanding but cucurrela is slow when he holds the ball and Mason mount
