Claims that Chelsea could soon find out the club will lose “its soul”

So much has been happening at Chelsea Football Club over the last months since the sanctions hit and Roman Abramovich was forced to sell his beloved club.

The new owners came in and began making huge changes straight away, starting with a busy summer transfer window of signing new players.

Sources: The feel inside Cobham and whether Chelsea will sack Graham Potter!

Then they changed things further by replacing Thomas Tuchel with Graham Potter, and things have been very up and down since.

The January transfer window was fantastic and they spent a lot of money recruiting new top quality players then, but the performances and results on the pitch have been shocking.

Not everyone agrees that the new signings are a good thing though. Pundit Paul Merson is questioning all the new arrivals and is concerned about the futures of Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher, saying their departures will see Chelsea lose it’s soul.

In words picked up by The Daily Express, Merson said: “I want him [Potter] to stay. I’m not sure if he’s the one bringing these players in. I’m watching these players and I wonder whether these signings are better than the players they’ve got.

“They are absolutely not. So why are they buying these players? They might very well offload players like Mason Mount and Conor Gallager and profit off their sales because they are academy graduates. And then suddenly, they’ll figure out that the club has lost its soul.”
