English giants monitoring situation of Mason Mount

Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are all monitoring the situation of Mason Mount at Chelsea, reports James Olley from ESPN.

Sources said that Mount wants a significant increase on his 80,000 pounds a week contract and also does not want to sign a similar long term deal that Todd Boehly has been handing out to new signings.

The last part of that sentence is strange to me, why would Mount, who has been at Chelsea since the age of six not want to commit long term?

Mount’s form has suffered heavily this season and has lost his place in the first team, sitting on the bench the last two games.

Mason is said to be open to playing for another English team despite his allegiance to Chelsea. The club must make a decision soon what to do, they are likely to cash in on the two time Chelsea player of the year winner should a deal not be agreed in the next few weeks/months.
