Part of the reason that Southampton beat Chelsea last week was because Graham Potter left some key players out of his starting lineup.
Reece James and Thiago Silva were the guaranteed starters left out, while Mykhailo Mudryk was rested and Raheem Sterling only fit enough to come on in the second half.
In the case of James and Silva it was a decision made to protect them by Potter, and he paid the price.
The good news it means both will be fresh for this Sunday’s game against Tottenham. Nizaar Kinsella has just confirmed that the pair will be back, with Mudryk and Sterling also fit to play from the start if Potter picks them.
Silva has been our best player all season, while James is probably our most important given he has no natural replacement and contributes so much in attack and defence.
We look forward to seeing what their return can do to improve us.
