Graham Potter has just taken his press conference ahead of the game against Tottenham this weekend, and he had some superb news to deliver on the injury front.
After months with a squad ravaged by fitness problems, Potter confirmed the glad tidings. His final pair of absentees are close to a return.:
“We’ve had a good week’s training, everyone is available pretty much apart from N’Golo [Kante] and Christian Pulisic. They are making progress, joining the warm-ups, and they will be more integrated next week. So that is good.”
Pulisic and Kante were the last remaining members of the first team squad not available to Potter (with the exception of Armando Broja, who is out for the season. It’s great news all round. After a nightmare that began in August with Kante’s injury, the club are finally through to the other side, with a fully fit squad just days away.
We wonder how long that luxury will last… given our record in recent seasons, we wouldn’t expect for too long.
For Potter, the excuses are running out, and the selection dilemmas just beginning.
