The Athletic put out a really chilling chart today showing in stark terms how poor Chelsea’s current run is.
Under Graham Potter, we’re consistently conceding more chances than we’re creating – understandable in a one off game, unthinkable for a top team over a long period.
It looks complicated, but it’s really very simple. The blue line is a measure of xG – how good the chances you create in a game are. The red line is xG against – how good the chances against you are.
Even in the lowest moments of Frank and Thomas Tuchel’s time, we were making better chances that we were conceding. Now, we’re not.
