(Images): Criticisms of this defender on West Ham equaliser are too harsh

Chelsea fans online are angry at Marc Cucurella for the way he defended for West Ham’s equaliser. They made images to illustrate what annoyed them.

The cross came from his side, and he just stood there and let it come in.

Now we won’t argue it’s not a bad look. For a player who isn’t doing well, standing like you’re waiting for a bus is a bad, bad look, regardless of whether you stand a chance of touching the ball.

He could also have taken a step towards Coufal to pressure him.

But ultimately, the ball was miles over his head, and it’s those at the back post (Reece James and Noni Madueke) who have really let the side down.

  1. A still photo means next to nothing, lol! When you watch Thiago Silva after the goal, he certainly seems to angry with Badiashile’s positioning on the play. The latter should have been much closer to Bowen to put him off (or block) the flicked on header that provides the assist. Instead, Badiashile is virtually holding hands with Silva and conceding way too much space in his own box.

  2. The team has a very good playerss but it need anew Manager. Potter’s a racist African players are always the last to think of, Fofana and Koulibaley he doesn’t want to give them a chance. So we need a new Manager who knows the value of the club otherthan potter who has failed to change his philosophy. GET A NEW MANAGER. Tuchel was sacked when the team was in 3rd position now what are you waiting to sack potter. All players are not showing seriousness on the field. THE temper of the game is the same from first whistle up to the last whistle. POTTER OUT.
