We don’t actually have any evidence that there’s a contract dispute of any kind going on between Chelsea and Mount, we just haven’t heard many positive updates in a while, and that’s bound to make people a little uncomfortable.
The story here is mainly based on assumptions – that Mount would want to go to Liverpool, and that he’s the “kind of player” who Jurgen Klopp would like in his team.
We don’t disagree with any of that logic, but it shouldn’t be forgotten that Mount has been brilliant for Chelsea, and the new owners haven’t spent hundreds of millions just to sky and save money on a contract for a home grown star.
We’re still very confident progress will be made now we’re out of January.
