Malo Gusto already experiencing the Chelsea curse

Malo Gusto has been subbed off with injury in the 30th minute of Lyon’s game tonight with Lille.

There has been unconfirmed suggestions that the injury is either a thigh injury or a hamstring injury.

Chelsea signed Gusto in January and agreed to loan him back to Lyon until the end of the season. Of course, there is plenty of time for Gusto to recover and have a successful rest of the season with Lyon but it’s still not good news to hear about an injury to a Chelsea player.

The main concern is that if both Malo and Reece are taking turns with injuries next season, that could cause disruption in rhythm.

Personally I think that the medical staff aren’t worried about Malo’s injury record as this would have been assessed in detail during the medical but then again, Boehly flew Wesley Fofana out to a doctor in the United States to give him the all clear on his injury issues and yet he has only played 300 minutes of football since joining the club.
