N’Golo Kante in “great shape” after special plan for return

One of the first Chelsea players to get hurt in our crazy injury crisis this season was N’Golo Kante, and he’s also going to be the last one back.

It will be 6 months out by the time he plays again, meaning another season ruined by fitness problems. The signs are good that he can make a big impact however.

Matt Law spoke on the London is Blue podcast this week where he claimed that he’s been told the midfielder looks “in great shape” as he comes to the end of a special regime to try and cure his chronic problems.

“There’s a lot of excitement around the fitness he’s going to come back with. They’re taken it super lowly and have been very careful with his return.”

We saw the former Leicester man training on the grass a few weeks ago, so even the most cautious return to action would have him back in the team before too long.

We believe everything Law says, and we’re sure he’s hearing this from people who really mean it.

But sadly, after being stung so many times by Kante’s injury problems, we can’t have any faith that he’s past them yet.
