The January transfer window has only just closed – but that doesn’t stop Fabrizio Romano getting stuck in to more news in every one of his Youtube shows.
Chelsea are always one of his favourite topics – and why wouldn’t they be? We keep the whole transfer-industrial complex going at times, particularly this last month.
One deal we didn’t manage to get done in our hectic January was shifting Hakim Ziyech out. His move to PSG collapsed at the last moment, and according to Romano, moving him on remains our “priority.”
The manager is trying to keep him happy, as the player wants to go and the club don’t want to hang on eiher:
“Ziyech, he was one step away from joining PSG, the deal was done, then not completed because of the document drama,” Romano explained in quotes picked up by Football.London.
“Then what’s going on right is that Graham Potter is helping the player, the coaching staff are helping the player. He was playing in the last game with Fulham.
“So they’re still protecting Hakim Ziyech. But in the summer, the priority will be to find another solution as Ziyech wants to be a regular starter for his future.”
Let’s hope it’s relatively simple to resurrect a deal come the summer.
