Shaktar director backs Mudryk to overcome bad start to Chelsea

It would be fair to say Mykhailo Mudryk has suffered a troublesome start to his Chelsea career since joining from Shaktar in January for an initial base fee of £62m.

Mudryk’s best moment so far was on his debut when he came on at Anfield against Liverpool and tormented the Liverpool defence with blistering pace and tight close control dribbling to nearly score the opener.

However since that match it would be fair to say that Mudryk’s performance have been lacklustre with loose touches and the inability to take on deep blocks pretty evidently clear.

Nevertheless, Shaktar’s Director of Football Darijo Srna believes that Mudryk will eventually become a top player for Chelsea, he spoke to The Football ramble podcast as cited by Metro UK.

Srna said: “‘Mykhailo Mudryk is from our academy, amazing kid, amazing boy, amazing player, unfortunately at Chelsea now it’s not a good mood, and Mykhailo as well, but Mykhailo has all the qualities to be one of the best players in the Premier League in the next couple of months, in the next couple of years”

Mudryk has not registered a goal or an assist in five outings so far for the Blues with his sixth chance to get off the mark coming against bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday.
