Chelsea are preparing to take on Southampton at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon and although every game is massive right now, this one is huge.
It’s huge because Chelsea are playing a team rooted to the bottom of the league and who are currently without a manager, so it presents itself a perfect opportunity to get that important win that they are searching for to get back on track after a couple of promising performances on the pitch. If they want to continue that progress, they really need to get results now.

Former Chelsea winger Joe Cole believes that Graham Potter should be looking to bring Mason Mount back into the starting Xl, saying that his personality is needed in the team right now.
Cole says that Mount is an outstanding player and his personality will lift the Stamford Bridge crowd when they need it the most.
“I feel like you’ve got to get Mason Mount in the team, particularly in difficult moments,” Cole told BT Sport (cited by The Chelsea Chronicle).
“You want personality. Sometimes you go with personalities above ability, although I think Mason Mount is more than capable of playing in this team. He’s outstanding.
“I think he’s a personality that would lift the crowd. They’ve got Southampton at the weekend at Stamford Bridge. They need to win, and they need to win well.”
Let him show he wants to be a Blue (by signing a new contract)! If he’s not part of our future then why waste playing time on him when we’re in the midst of a re-build?
This side desperately needs to build chemistry around the new signings. We saw hopeful signs at Dortmund, so it’s a little unclear to me why Potter would want to tinker too much at the weekend. Mount’s simply not worth 300k/week, so if he’s stuck on that number (despite his fall off in form!) then let’s just move on with developing the future of the club and let Liverpool overpay him if they want.
