One thing that might cheer up Blues fans was Joao Felix’s performance. He was brilliant, particularly in the first half. He dropped deep, roamed around, threaded passes and played as a second striker par excellence.
He had one goal disallowed, then another that did count – a side foot volley from close range.
He faded later on – as you’d expect – but his overall performance was excellent, just as it was on his debut.
It’s a great sign for his future that he’s already playing like this.
